AEM TestPro CV100 for PDS Cable Certification CAT5-CAT6A

We are excited to announce that we have added AEM’s TestPro CV100 to our product catalogue. The TestPro CV100 is a series of testing instruments from AEM Precision Cable Test designed for certifying PDS (Passive Distribution System) cables. It is highly user-friendly and efficient, performing all the tests required for compliance with TIA/ISO standards with a single press, along with other parameters such as DC resistance unbalance, TCL, and ELTCTL.

AEM TestPro CV100 includes:

  • Comprehensive DC measurements for both pair-to-pair and conductor-to-conductor resistance unbalance tests.
  • Reports on fault distance for shielding discontinuity, NEXT, and Return Loss time-domain measurements using the Autotest feature.
  • TestDataPro measurement software or TestDataPro Cloud for documentation and reporting of Autotest results, enabling easier collaboration across sites.
  • Support for CAT5e to CAT8 cables for both channel and permanent links.
  • CAT6A patch cable adapters included in certain Smart Building test kits to support MPTL testing without additional equipment.
  • Optional CAT5e and CAT6 patch cable adapters available for purchase.

Why is PDS cable certification important?

Certification is essential for businesses and organizations to ensure their networks are reliable, efficient, and cost-effective. AEM TestPro CV100 helps achieve this by:

Ensuring performance:
Certification guarantees that the cabling meets specific performance requirements for data transmission, bandwidth, and signal integrity. This is crucial for preventing data loss and ensuring stable communication.

Compliance with standards:
Many industries adhere to specific cabling standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC). Certification ensures the installation complies with these standards, which is often necessary for regulatory compliance.

Easier troubleshooting and maintenance:
Certified installations make it easier to identify and resolve issues. Without certification, determining the cause of network problems can be more challenging.

Extending cable lifespan:
Certification helps extend the lifecycle of cabling by ensuring the installation is correctly executed and maintained. This reduces the need for frequent repairs or replacements.

Building user and client confidence:
A certified installation instills greater confidence in users and clients that the system will function correctly and reliably.

Competitive advantage:
Companies offering certified cabling stand out in the market by demonstrating a commitment to quality and professional execution.

Improved network planning:
Certification provides insights into the cabling system’s capacity and limitations, aiding in the planning of future expansions and improvements.
